About IANS
Who we are
The Institute for Applied Network Security (IANS) is the premiere information security research organization. IANS listens to information security practitioners and connects them with IT security vendors.
IANS offers two annual memberships. Practitioner members come from Fortune 2000 corporations, the Federal government and higher education institutions. Vendor members represent the most promising information security vendors in the marketplace today.
What we do
IANS generates cutting-edge technical and business insights for its members through a unique set of peer-based research activities. This “bottom-up” research approach supplements traditional analyst-based analysis with direct, unfiltered information. There’s no middle man or expert advisor; just you and the security practitioner.
Why we matter
The practical data IANS collects is an invaluable resource for IT security vendors. We open channels of communication directly to highly targeted individuals so you can:
- learn how your message is being received
- better leverage your existing customer base, and
- utilize proprietary tools to make your sales teams more productive and effective
Philip Gardner and Jack Phillips, both Harvard Business School-trained executives, founded IANS in 2001. Both of these executives have founded or been part of the founding teams of successful companies over the past decade.
